Anderson is the chief executive officer of Tri-City Medical Center, a large tertiary care and acute care public hospital situated in Oceanside, California, and one of the “100 Great Hospitals in America.” He directs about 2,300 employees and 500 doctors of different specialties. Anderson took over the position in January 2009, when the institution was in a state of turmoil and suffering due to debt, financial loss worth millions of dollars, lack of accreditations, and inability to meet seismic guidelines. He was very instrumental in bringing back Tri-City Medical Center to life and turning it around financially. When he assumed the position, he swiftly devised a complete plan to address the said issues. He decreased the interest rate on debts and securities, gaining back finances and later on providing for facility renovation and seismic clearance. Under his governance, Anderson obtained recommendations, certifications, and accreditations for the institution from several medical organizations, such as the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC), the American Heart Association (AHA), the American Stroke Association (ASA), and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Tri-City Medical Center gained new accreditations under his leadership such as the following: Chest Pain Center, Gold-Plus Primary Stroke Center, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center national certifications. Anderson launched the Cardiovascular Health Institute, the Orthopedic Institute, and the forthcoming Cancer Institute. Before assuming his position as CEO in Tri-City Medical Center, he was president and founder of Integrated Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (IHHI), Santa Ana, California, a company that runs four hospitals in Orange County. Larry B. Anderson gained his degree in political science in California State University, Long Beach, California. He is an alumnus of Loyola University Law School in Los Angeles and is a licensed attorney.
